Your dreams matter

Cupcake photo by laihiu As we talk of God-sized dreams, it seems we always think about how big they can be. We want a measuring stick to tell us we matter.

But here's a secret...

There's no such thing with God.

All of our big is small to Him, the One who spoke the world into being, who swirled the stars into place, who can hold the seas in His hands.

And all of our small is big to Him, the One who counts every hair on our heads, who places our tears in a bottle, who talks of faith as a mustard seed.

It's not the size of the dream or desire that makes the difference--it's the size of the One made it, who made you, who takes treasures from His heart and places them in yours.

Dream little dreams of a quiet life.

Dream big dreams of the spotlight.

Both matter. Both make a difference.

And YOU do too.

Oh, how you do.

To Him. To me. To us.

To the world waiting for you to give it all.

Big or small.

So good...you always have such encouraging posts! I love the quote my Sue Monk Kidd, "I think there must be a place inside of us where dreams go and wait their turn."

Dear Holley,

I'll keep dreaming -- and thank YOU for the encouragement to do so. Sometimes I tend to forget that these dreams of mine -- even the small one -- came from His heart and that the dreams -- and I -- do matter to Him. He and His heart are so big!

Thank you, Holley, for AGAIN starting my day in such a wonderful way.

Love and blessings,

Thanks for this one Holley. I get my encouragements from you when it's time for bed as I live in Australia. After almost a lifetime of believing that I don't matter let alone my dreams, this was very uplifting for me.I love the bit about the Lord taking the treasures from His heart and placing them into mine too Tamara. I had something dragged up from my past that was particularly painful yesterday (by someone I thought loved me...and the old patterns of thinking kicked in again) BUT THIS has been just what I needed. I can dream and HE is not only my dream maker but the one who fulfills them too. Bless you Holley.

So beautiful, thank you Holly. Most times I dream of a happy life for my 3 grandchildren, and now I have a great grandchild. I dream of a future filled with positive experiences and life long relationship with Christ. I know if they hold on to him everything else will be in place. Dreaming keeps me full of hope with a fresh outlook on making a difference in the lives of those I touch. I Thank God for sharing all his treasures with us, big and small.
