You Are Chosen!
Imagine a little girl at recess waiting to hear her name called for a team. She stands with her head lowered, staring at a scuffed shoe, waiting and hoping.
Picture a woman lingering at the edge of a party. Her eyes scan the room, wondering if anyone notices she’s there, silently wishing for someone to talk to her.
See an older lady sitting in the foyer of a nursing home. She watches as volunteers come through the door, slowly lifting her head, inviting someone to acknowledge her with a quiet smile.
From the time we are children to the end of our lives, something within us cries, “Choose me!”
Jesus answers that call of our hearts...
He says to the little girl, “I want you on my team. I even have a special position and purpose for you.”
He says to the woman at the party, “I think you’re beautiful. I want to know you and be with you.”
He says to the older woman, “I place great worth on your life. I see you and I hear you.”
And He says to you, “I choose you, just as you are, and I love you more than you can imagine.”
We long for someone to come for us, see us for who we really are, and want us anyway. We’ve already been chosen but sometimes we still try to fulfill that longing in other ways. Eventually we find that the love we’ve been searching for is right in front of us.
God has already made His decision. He’s standing before us with arms wide open. Once and for all He has said to us, “I choose you.” When we accept our Heavenly Father’s invitation to join His family then we truly belong to Him forever.

grateful tears, friend. growing up, i was that girl picked last. we are studying Ephesians in church now, too, and right there in chapter 1: "chosen, holy, blameless." then in the prayer, "the glorious riches of GOD'S inheritance in HIS SAINTS!" sigh.
thank you for the reminder! grace and peace in Jesus to you today.
When I think of chosen, I think of a passage from Isaiah that has given me much comfort lately.
"“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine". (Isaiah 43:1)
Everytime I read this, I am in awe. It makes me feel safe and secure.
I, too, was chosen last growing up. I didn't fit in. They all liked my personality and the fact that I always acknowledged them in the halls of school. It made them feel better, I knew it and I wanted to make them feel better, but that is where it ended, they had no room for me at their parties, gatherings and groups. But I found that God helped me get over a lot of the hurt. The arrows still have left scars in my heart. There are many scars of many things. But, you know what, the faith that I was taught at home sustained me through all those valleys.
Now, in my golden years, forgiveness given and deeds forgotten, I don't have any regrets because I know that I treated them kindly and my Father in Heaven has kept record of that and guides me even today to choose His path, to follow His Plan for my life. He opens new doors every day. I'm joyful and peaceful in the fact that I was taught to practice the Golden Rule.
I would love to win the adorable print!

Thank You! I needed this today...sometimes it's easy to forget...we can encourage others, but we forget, we are chosen too!..It's good to be reminded. :)
I love your illustrations for Chosen. Why is it that we only see the temporal at times when the eternal is so much greater. His love is so much more.
I was never picked growing up. And even as an adult, my feelings get hurt at times when I am left out of things. Thank you for the reminder that I am chosen by the One who matters. most.
This was my word!!! When we did this at our summer conference for Blessings Unlimited this is the word God gave me...I kept thinking, "no, I want a better one..." (I know...how dumb to argue with God)...but then it just filled my heart and I realized and received it...In God's heart I am...CHOSEN!!! Yea!
It's not only women who feel the pain of being forgotten. Though, as men, we bear up under the pain of it through hidden anger and suffering, with internal tears and growing bitterness, we guys feel the same sense of loss when we're not picked for the team or seen in the room or remembered in the hall.
Thank you for reminding us that Christ Jesus has called us all to belong to Him. And, from this man's heart, I can tell you it is of great worth to me to know that I am wanted by God and have a place on His "team."
My daughter and I were just going over the scripture yesterday in 1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. What a privilege to be chosen.
